Today, we have a special – and tasty – treat for you guys. This smoothie recipe is infused with healthiness that tastes good! We’ve been a fan of this berry delicious recipe for over a decade, and it’s been a staple for those mornings when you need a little pick-me-up for your mind, body and spirit. The best part? It’s easy, healthy and filling!

The chai seeds and fresh spinach add an extra dose of nutrients into the mixture, resulting in a filling and revitalizing start to your day. We have added in alternative ingredient options for any picky eaters.

 

Tip: When using a blender, always add the ingredients in according to their consistency – liquids first and solids last.

 

Berry Bright Start

This chilled sweet start to your morning will serve up to 2 people.

 

Ingredients:

1 medium sized banana

2 cups natural apple juice (or almond milk)

2 tablespoon tofu (or flavoured or unflavoured yogurt)

1 cup berries (add ice or use frozen berries)

Handful of fresh spinach

1 tablespoon chai seeds

 

Directions:

In a large blender, pour in the apple juice (or almond milk) and add in the tofu (or yogurt).

Slice the banana up into medium-sized chunks, add into the blender.

Add in a spoonful of chai seeds and a handful of fresh, organic spinach and puree until it’s a smooth mixture.

Next, add in the fresh berries and ice (or frozen berries), and blend until the ice chunks are gone and the consistency is smooth.

Enjoy right away and store any extras in the fridge for up to 12 hours.
