Diala is a Toronto based food and travel blogger who is passionate about discovering the most vibrant food scenes around the world. On her blog Diala's kitchen, she creates delicious recipes inspired by all her travels. Read on to learn more about food, wellness, and get her custom chia seed pudding recipe for mala prayer!

How did Diala’s Kitchen get started?
It started 4 years ago when my Instagram following started asking for recipes and travel tips. Today, the blog has a variety of healthy recipes (from breakfast to dinner) as well as a few city guides.

How has meditation and calmness affected your life?
Meditation has benefited my life greatly. It brings peace during challenging times and allows me to be more present and take time to focus on the importance of self care. Especially on how beneficial it is for mental health. There's a sense of calmness after meditation and yoga that I treasure profoundly.
How does healthy eating impact your wellness?
Healthy eating is a way of life for me. Most of the week, the meals are I cook at home are vegetarian and plant based. A few others, have a bit of fish too.
For me, Healthy eating goes hand in hand with being active (which for me includes CrossFit, running and and hot yoga) I'm very conscious of the foods I put into my body as I can feel its effects instantly.

1/2 cup almond milk
1/2 coconut milk
1 tsp Maple syrup
1tsp Pitaya powder
2 1/2 tablespoons chia seeds
1/4 cup skyr or Greek yogurt
1/4 cup granola (I have 2 great recipes on the blog!)
1/2 mixed berries

In a medium bowl, mix the milks, Maple syrup and pitaya powder. Whisk well. Add the chia seeds and stir. Let rest for a few hojrabor overnight in the fridge. Just before eating top with skyr or Greek yogurt, granola and berries. Enjoy!
